Specification

The Woodford model offers versatility in design with a choice of windows, doors and roof styles. The exterior cladding is a deep 150mm/6” ‘unsorted grade’ shiplap which is virtually knot free after we have further ‘graded’ the timber in house, making it perfect for a paint finish.

The door frame has a top drip bar and bottom sill and is a solid door of framed, ledged and braced construction with a mortice lock and lever handle.

The windows have a substantial frame, sill and include one vent per twin unit. A breather membrane is fitted between the framework and cladding, allowing moisture out but not in keeping a warm and dry interior.

Available in either apex or pent style roof with a choice of door positions. Both roof styles have a minimum internal height of 1981mm/6’6” so head room won’t be a concern. The standard exterior finish consists of 2 coats of a Thorndown paint system in a choice of colours which can also be mixed to RAL codes.

The ‘Woodford’ garden shed is a perfect premium solution for storing your garden tools, lawn mower etc but also if you want a building for your hobby or even trade it’s ideal too.

“Unsorted grade timber is grades 1 to 4 (the top 4) which at Frenchmoor we further grade in house to achieve a virtually knot free cladding. Gorgeous with an oil finish showing the grain detail or perfect for a painted finish with no knots that may bleed sap.”

The standard Woodford Garden shed is a genuine quality timber building and offers a variety of options in terms of how it is used, from attractive wooden sheds to garden offices to classic summerhouses. However, for many, our ‘bespoke’ options are what they want.

You can have a bespoke garden building made to your requirements with the look you want, plus any features you desire. You can alter size, shape, windows, doors and materials used in construction to create a design that works for you in order to create something that works exactly how you want it.

Faux Slate Roof

Natural slates are both characterful and minimalistic. However, they are by far one of the heaviest roofing materials and therefore unsuitable for sheds and garden buildings. Our faux roof slates are designed for use on timber outbuildings and they have the look of a natural slate but without the weight. Durable, high impact resistant and importantly unlike real slate won’t crack. They offer a truly unique appearance and unrivalled longevity with a 40 year warranty. Plus at the end of their life can be recycled.

Full felted roof along with trim timbers is first installed to the roof followed by a certified batten frame which is placed on top and screwed in place. The slates are then fixed to the battens with the final finish of ridge tiles to conclude.

Felt Tile Roof

The felt tile roof is the perfect roofing solution for any garden building. These high-quality felt roofing tiles ensure complete protection for your outbuilding.

They are lightweight, fully waterproof, windproof and UV-resistant. These tiles offer robust protection throughout the year and won’t fade in the sun or let rain drip through. The felt tiles can be used on a variety of our outbuildings including: Sheds, Workshops, Log Cabins, etc.

With a life expectancy of +20 years, this is a cost effective roofing finish which is easy to maintain.

Cedar Shingles

These Premium grade 1 ‘Blue Label’ Western Red Cedar shingles have one of the lowest carbon footprints of any widely used building product, this environmentally friendly option offers a high degree of thermal insulation to your outbuilding and a thermal insulation value eight times that of concrete.

The lightweight structure allows easy handling and transportation while resisting damage caused by moisture, decay and insects. It is also low maintenance after installation and maintains high aesthetic integrity. These are knot free shingles which we secure using stainless fixings to certified battens. They give a beautiful look to a roof from when first installed to when weathered to a natural silver grey colour. The life span is up to +30 years.

Windows

Standard ‘twin’ unit with single opening vent, side hung with casement stay and side fastener. Single units fixed or vented available.

Double Doors/Extra Doors

These can be a standard pair width of 152cm (60″) or a door and a half pair width at 114cm (45″). Framed, ledged & braced door construction, hinges can be either galvanised T-hinges or Stainless bearing hinges.

You may just wish to add an additional single door for different access or combined with an internal partion so acting as a separate storage unit.

Guttering

Residential 100mm/4″ half-round gutter with down pipe. Important option in aiding a low maintenance timber building by reducing water contact from roof run-off. Water butts can also be installed if required.

Osmo Natural Oil

Available in an opaque or translucent finish Osmo offers a genuine top quality product which doesn’t flake, peel or blister. Easy future maintenance, just ensure the surface is clean and dry and apply another thin coat. Choice of colours plus can be mixed to RAL codes.

Ply-liner

During construction we can install a ply-liner between the panel frame and the breather membrane. This gives a durable and attractive interior finish. It can be left natural or have a clear coat or painted finish.

Insulate & Ply-line

Once your building has been erected we can install 50mm (2″) Celotex to the walls and roof which we then cover with a hardwood faced plywood. If electrics are being installed we undertake after the 1st fix. With regards to insulation of the floor we install this at the factory, priced separately.
